Earlier this year, Achille Lauro laid out plans to release three two-song singles on various unique formats throughout 2011. And while this plan may have been abandoned sometime after the first release, scented-candle-plus-download Low Cha Cha, it appears to have been for a good reason, as the band has opted to record a full length instead.
White Wives is a new project created by Chris #2 and Chris Head of Anti-Flag, Roger Harvey aka Dandelion Snow, Andy T. of The Code, and Tyler Kweder of American Armada. These guys have long been known for their strong political views and support of activist organizations. On Saturday, December 3, they will play a show at the Marquis Theatre with Koji, Fingers of the Sun, and Hindershot. http://whitewives.tumblr.com/
This will be Koji's 3rd show of 12 with White Wives, taking them from Chicago to San Diego. Koji's politically driven guitar anthems will resonate perfectly with fans of White Wives, and if we're lucky he'll do his excellent version of "Wagon Wheel." http://www.myspace.com/kojisaysaloha
Fingers of the Sun have been on a roll lately, releasing a new album and playing a show with guitar legend Dick Dale. Anyone who hasn't heard their Kinks-flavored psychedelia should take this chance to do so. http://www.fingersofthesun.com/
Hindershot are back from their Halloween stint as Talking Heads, and are ready to blow your mind with their new songs. This will be their first Denver show with new drummer Duncan "Sweet Baby" Dotterrer. http://www.hindershot.com

Oh my god we're so excited for this one. This weekend catch SAUNA as they open for one of the best live bands going, Thee Oh Sees (garage rock weirdness from San Francisco) along with Total Control (noisy-as-hell punk rock from Australia.)
Thee Oh Sees
Moe's BBQ ()
8pm. 16+. $10
You can get tickets in advance of the show by emailing SAUNA at firstname.lastname@example.org. (We recommend this option as the show may very well sell out.)
Bonus! Here's an entire live show from Thee Oh Sees. Watch them obliterate the Great American Music Hall:
This October 29th, Denver bands are bringing the Hi-Dive back to CBGB's in the mid-seventies, as they're covering iconic bands that played the legendary venue.
The Rot Congress. We watched them die. We drove stakes through the beasts’ hearts a year ago. But you can’t really kill that which is already dead, can you? No, the unholy collective will soon return to terrorize us all again. On the anniversary of their first emergence, the Rot Congress shall return in the form of five demonic bands – The Don’t Let Them Ins, Missing Party, Amazing Evil Twin, Mujeres de Fernando, and Ghouls Walk by. We beg of you, do not go to the Skylark Lounge on Friday, October 28th.
